Sealed with a paw

Dachshunds in London's Mojo, Toto and Milo were the stars of fiance Andrew's big proposal to girlfriend Renee on Saturday afternoon.

The big event, which took place at a romantic spot by Angel canal in London, was planned and included a group of singers, champagne, flowers and boat. I could barely contain myself - it was so romantic!

Andrew requested the presence of our bow clad dachshunds, his fiancees favourite dog, to greet and approach them as he proposed. The ring was carried and proudly presented by Mojo in a box.

Dachshunds in London would like to wish Andrew and his future wife a very happy marriage we were privileged to be a part of such a special day!

Huge thanks also goes out to Noriko and her beautiful four pawed friends who were the stars of the proposal.

Ready steady...dachshund!

Thank you everyone who made the effort to come and join us in Hampstead Heath today.  The West Meadow was filled with our four pawed friends running around in the sun.  Despite a temporary shower the sun reappeared for a round of fast and furious racing.  Here are a few pictures to tell the tale. I hope you all had a great day Milo and I definetely did!

 Some of our winners today!

dachshund Ubaldo does Borat

To demonstrate that our American dachshund cousins are just as crazy as we are (if not crazier) dachshunds in London's Ubaldo (owned by Alyson Nehren) attended the New York dachshund meet up group.

The group is owned and run by Kari who has a wirehaired named Olivia.

They held a doggy Beauty Pageant with three categories: swimwear, evening & wow wear. Ubaldo won the whole shebang again! well done Ublado! but his Borat mankini was the best picture ever.

Thanks for the update travelling Ubaldo!

Lots of love Milo x

Liam Gallaghar with 900 dachshunds?

Liam Gallaghar was the hot topic of the world of dachshunds last month when he claimed to buy 900 of them in aid of saving the breed!

We make an urgent plea to Mr Oasis that each and everyone become star members of our club! so if you are reading this Mr Gallagher please get in touch with us!

The OASIS star and his wife Nicole Appleton have one of the four-legged friends called Ruby and on a recent trip to Germany Liam said he would be a crusader for their cause.

He ranted: "Extinction of sausage dogs? I will prevent that! When I'm back in England I am gonna buy 900 of them. I am gonna prevent them from downfall."

We say good on you Liam we will back you every inch of the way - looks like out spring race day will be mildly populated - look out London Parks!

Oscar leaves a pawprint for dachshunds in London

dachshunds in London veteran member Oscar kissed us all farewell last month after just 10 years.

Oscar was a member of DIL since 2008! Our heartfelt condolences go out to owner Delia Gaze and her family who enjoyed taking Oscar to our meet ups.

As ever loosing a pet is a tragedy, in memoriam Delia says:"... he was the most beautiful, loving, joyous and comical little creature imaginable - the vet said that of all the relationships between clients and animals that he sees, the bond between Oscar and me came at the top!".

Good bless you Oscar

Dachshunds in London dine out

Last weekend was another very successful day out for the Dachshunds in London Meet Up group. Only this time instead of heading to the green parks of London we all headed to ‘Dine Out’. Lily’s Kitchen the UK’s first ever Doggie Diner and possibly even the World’s first was invaded by typically hungry lively Dachshunds all ready to fill their tums.

We were greeted by friendly hostesses at the Diner who showed us to our tables. The dining tables were designed especially well for us very short legged Dachshunds to enjoy the company of each other. The menu had ‘proper ‘organic delicious dishes on offer. It was difficult to make a choice between the Homestyle Chicken n Turkey Casserole, Beef Potato and Vegetable or Slow cooked Lamb Hot Pot but as you all know us Dachshunds are not all that fussy when it comes to choice of food.

Our waitress was ever so obliging and continued to fill our empty bowls after each course. Occasionally one or two of us got greedy and tried to steal from each other’s dinner bowls but our waitress soon put a stop to that. No fighting allowed in the Lily’s Kitchen Doggie Diner. Unruly behaviour was not allowed so where possible we were all on our best behaviour.

Feeling rather content with bellies full many of us then relaxed on the Lily’s sofa together. Some of us decided to socialise together and play in the Doggie Diner. For those of us whom like to misbehave a behaviourist was available to give sound advice. An acupuncturist to help and discuss doggie health matters was also there to help.

It was a great day out and we were delighted to meet up with all our Dachshund buddies but most of all our owners walked out with bags of food and treats as take away and were all well persuaded that we were all huge fans of Lily’s Kitchen Proper Pet Food.

To view the whole range go to: www.lilyskitchen.co.uk and you will see why we believe it is the best dog food available.
