Cant stand the rain!

Does your dachshund do rain? Milo certainly does NOT and many of us had to face another round of cabin fever this weekend with our four legged friends as London become one giant puddle.

Those who braved the rain to go to Regents Park deserve a medal for courage and commitment, Im sorry we couldnt join in and hope that the sun made a brief appearance.

Lets hope the sun decides to shine again for our dachshund Games on 17 June at Hampstead.

This video is dedicated to all those pooches who DONT like the rain! If you have any cute pictures of your dachshund braving the water, please send them to me.

Milo meets Noah Huntley

On Tuesday, Milo and I were busy at Regents Park shooting a fashion editorial with actor Noah Huntley who played Will in Holby City and also starred 28 Days Later and first The Chronicles of Narnia movie!

The photo shoot was for a spring issue of Fantastic Man magazine. It took place in one of Milo's favourite parks, Regents Park and David and Niki, part of the production team, looked after us very well.

Like most of his club members from D.I.L Milo didnt enjoy the duck weather so he came sporting his bright yellow raincoat, which, after 20 minutes of refusing to move from the living room floor at home, he decided wasnt bad at all because it kept him dry for a few hours.

The Great London dachshund dash Sunday 26th September

The Time has come, dachshund lovers, to unite with our favourite breed and show London what we are all about!

The dachshunds in London official race day will commence at 1.30pm at Regents Park, beside the Honest Sausage Cafe on Sunday 26th September. The event is sponsored by Sniffles Dog Spa and Paws and Claws and we will all be raising money for Dog AID.

Club members are asked to turn up in fancy dress and those of you who have a club t-shirt please wear it as the event will be filmed for a dogumentary for SKY airing in November -so we want shiny coats and well turned out paws for the day! Those who make the extra effort can collect a super dooper doggy goodie bag from me.

The day will be filled with doggy treats and prizes to be won. Here is a quick teaser of whats on...

Races – start 2.30pm

Two heats will take place, one for miniatures and one for tweenies/standards. The first three winners of each race will win a prize and the final six will enter a ‘finale’ race.

Sausage Eating – 3.30pm

Again this will be split into dog size and there will be one prize awarded for the fastest sausage eater in each category!

Talk n’ tips with Stan Rawlinson - 4pm

Louise and her father, renowned dog trainer Stan Rawlinson, will be talking to us about training tips to straighten out those ‘paw’ habits!

Dog game - A dog sniffing game is on site for members to tantalise those noses in between competitions
